Position Description

The Department of Anthropology at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in Socio-Cultural Anthropology. The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful applicant must be engaged in research that complements and expands the research interests and areas of the Department of Anthropology.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or an equivalent international degree at the time of appointment and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2024.

The salary range for this position is $125,000-$129,527, for 2023-24.

The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
