Position Description: |
The Program in Molecular Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School
is seeking an outstanding individual for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member at the
Instructor level.
The position responsibilities will be to direct and perform an independent research program
addressing mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions, using the nematode Caenorhabditis
elegans, and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa bacteria as models. The position requires expertise
in a) genetics of both Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and C. elegans (including CRISPR/Cas
genome editing), b) phenotypic, molecular, and biochemical analyses of worms infected with
bacterial pathogens, and c) RNA molecular biology, including library preparation for, and data
analysis of, high throughput cDNA sequencing.
