Position
Overview The Department
of Chemistry & Biochemistry (https://chemistry.osu.edu/) in the
College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks to fill a
tenure-track faculty position. This Assistant Professor position will begin Autumn 2024. This search is open to candidates
with expertise in all areas of biochemistry, including structural, chemical,
and molecular biology, biophysics, omics and bioinformatics. The new faculty
member will join a diverse and interdisciplinary community on the main campus
in Columbus, Ohio. Our partners include the Ohio State University Wexner
Medical Center, James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, Nationwide
Children’s Hospital, the Ohio Supercomputer Center, and Center for Electron
Microscopy and Analysis, housing state-of-the-art Cryo-EM instrumentation. Departmental faculty
also benefit from exceptional on-campus research facilities, including mass
spectrometry, fluorescence microscopy, omics, X-ray diffraction and NMR
spectroscopy.
Education
and Experience Requirements Required: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in
Biochemistry or a related discipline and have demonstrated excellence in
innovative research and a dynamic vision of an impactful future research
program in experimental biochemistry. Candidates must have strong commitment to
teaching at all levels. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building a
culturally diverse intellectual community, in line with OSU’s Shared Values (see below).
Desired: Strong
communication and public speaking skills are desired.
