The Jayasundara laboratory seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on projects related to impacts of environmental change on organismal responses. For this specific position, we are seeking a postdoctoral scholar who is interested in correlating environmental temperature data with mitochondrial DNA mutation rates. The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to develop their own research groups within the broader project and contribute to other ongoing projects by fellow lab members though collaborative efforts. Additionally, the postdoctoral scholar will mentor junior researchers in the laboratory, lead journal clubs, and assist with routine laboratory maintenance jobs.

The Jayasundara laboratory is a research collaborative that is part of a group of thriving community of environmental health researchers at the Nicholas School of the Environment and maintains strong ties with the Global Health Institute and the Duke Medical Center.

TERM 1 year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.

QUALIFICATIONS Applicants should hold a PhD in Environmental Toxicology or a related field. We seek applicants with a strong interest in environmental data analytics.

PROJECTED START DATE The position is available immediately.

Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the USA. Visa sponsorship is not available.
