Position Description
Koç University College of Social Sciences and Humanities Department of Comparative Literature The Department of Comparative Literature at Koç University invites applications for one or more full-time faculty positions to begin September 2024. The rank is open, but preference will be given to junior candidates. We are particularly interested in candidates with a comparatist research profile in modern literature, with a focus on French, German, or Russian. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda and a demonstrable record of original research in the field. The candidate is expected to engage in the intellectual life of our department with diverse theoretical, methodological, and linguistic interests, and to teach broadly on the Department’s curriculum as appropriate. Junior appointments are at the rank of Assistant Professor and initially for a period of four years with opportunities for renewal and advancement. The teaching load is four courses per year. And ABD candidates must be on track to complete their PhD before the start date. Located in Istanbul, Turkey, Koç University is an internationally recognized, English-instruction research university. The Department of Comparative Literature is expanding, with a recently established MA program. Therefore, the successful candidate is also expected to complement the Department’s existing strengths and actively participate in further curriculum development.
