Position Description

The Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Geneva expects to hire a postdoctoral scientists starting in Fall 2024 in the area of particle physics and phenomenology, associated mainly with the group of Professor Francesco Riva, but embedded in the wider scientific context of the DPT and the Geneva Physics department. The position falls in the framework of a WEAVE collaborative project with LHC experimental particle physics groups based in Vienna and Ghent universities. We also keep active links with the CERN theory division and nearby theory groups at EPFL and the wider Swiss community via the SwissMAP collaboration (https://www.nccr-swissmap.ch).

The University of Geneva Department of Theoretical Physics has a number of groups working in High Energy Particle Physics including those of Julian Sonner and Antonio Riotto, which support an active and wide-ranging group of postdoctoral and PhD scientists.

The position is advertised for 2 years, with the possibility of extension for a third year, depending on performance and availability of funds; it comes with an internationally competitive salary, travel funds and excellent working conditions.

Candidates are kindly asked to provide a CV, a list of publications, a short research statement, as well as letters of reference from two senior scientists familiar with the candidate and their work to be submitted electronically via the AJO website. Candidates are requested to submit their material before the primary deadline, 22.12.2023, for full consideration.
