The Duke Culture lab, directed by Dr. Cristina Salvador seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research in Cultural Psychology and Neuroscience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability in writing research papers, expertise in advanced quantitative methods, outstanding communication/time management skills, and interest in collaborating with and mentoring junior scholars. A Ph.D. in psychology or a related field is required.
Position Details:
The Culture lab is part of the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University. This position will be in person (Durham, NC, USA), with an anticipated start date in the summer 2024. The appointment requires a two-year commitment, with an initial contract for one year with a possibility of renewal for a second year or more depending on performance and funding. The position is exempt and offers full benefits with compensation that follows NIH guidelines. It is open to international and domestic applicants. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting January 4, 2024, and the position will remain open until filled.
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Associate will work closely with Professor Salvador (PI) and be involved in all aspects of the research process. The research centers on examining cultural differences in varieties of interdependence, self-perception, and social norms. Expertise in big data analyses (e.g., World Values Survey, Gallup Poll, twitter), fluency in additional languages and/or advanced EEG analytic skills will be viewed favorably. Ideas about how your research program could build upon or expand ongoing research in the Culture Lab will also be a plus.
