Expressions of interest for a postdoc position at INFN Rome are welcome from candidates with a research record in phenomenology of the Standard Model and of the Standard Model Effective Theory (SMEFT). Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in electroweak, Higgs, top and flavour physics. The successful candidates will work with Dr. Luca Silvestrini and his research group funded by the Italian PRIN grant (from Italian Ministry of University and Research) 2022RXEZCJ. The successful candidates will contribute to the advance of global SMEFT analyses based on the HEPfit public code, developed by the INFN Rome group. The research topics include: implementation and phenomenological analyses of flavour, electroweak, higgs and top observables in the context of the SMEFT, possibly with specific assumptions on the flavour structure of the high-energy theory.
The postdoctoral research will take place in tight connection with the local high energy phenomenology group which includes members from the Rome INFN unit, the University of Rome Sapienza, and colleagues from Roma Tre INFN section and physics department. More information on the activities of the group can be found at

The formal selection procedure will take place soon after the deadline of the expression of interest via a dedicated INFN web portal. We are seeking to fill positions of 2-3 years duration (2 years extendable, depending on performance and funding). The start date is flexible within summer/fall 2024. Starting dates as early as Spring 2024 can be also considered. Salary will be commensurate with experience, and a generous travel budget is included in the positions.
To ensure they receive full consideration, expressions of interest should be sent (in English and via AJO) by January 15, 2024.
They should include:
1. Curriculum Vitae
2. Research Statement
3. List of publications
4. Three letters of reference to be sent via AJO
