Position Description:

Candidates are sought for a post-doctoral research position working on the topic of micro/nano plastics.

The research effort will involve the formulation of a mathematical model describing the kinetics of microplastic fragmentation and additive release with associated protocols for evaluating model parameters in complex systems such as the ocean and freshwater bodies.

Candidates should have a doctoral degree in environmental chemistry, environmental engineering, or a related field and previous experience in microplastics research.

The successful candidate will do modeling of plastic fragmentation and release of additives from plastics, perform plastic abrasion experiments, and serve as a liaison with other members of an international research team.

Programming skills in Python and/or R are highly desirable
