Position Description
The nuclear theory group at Iowa State University is soliciting applications for one postdoctoral position. The appointment is contingent on funding and is expected to begin on July 1, 2024. The initial offer is for one year and renewable for a second year. We especially encourage applications from those with an interest in QCD and its application to nuclear physics. Our group consists of three teaching/research faculty (James P. Vary, Kirill Tuchin and Srimoyee Sen) and one research faculty (Pieter Maris) as well as postdocs and graduate students. Our research interests are concentrated on QCD and strong interactions, including phenomenology of relativistic heavy ion collisions, nuclear structure theory, topological quantum phase transitions and effective field theory. In addition, we have an active nuclear experimental program. Applications should include a CV, a list of publications and a description of research interests.
