The Theoretical Particle Physics Laboratory (LPTP) at the Institute of Physics of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne invites applications for one Ph.D. fellowship. Preference will be given to candidates with a solid basis in theoretical physics. The preferred starting date is Fall 2024, and the duration is 4 years. Candidates should have obtained a Master in Physics by the starting date.
The LPTP is headed by Riccardo Rattazzi and comprises Tim Cohen as CERN/EPFL joint staff member. Research areas include quantum field theory, high-energy phenomenology, physics beyond the Standard Model and cosmology.
Beside LPTP, there are other groups working in particle physics at EPFL (
http://het.epfl.ch) and all have strong ties with nearby CERN.
Applications should contain a cover letter, a brief illustration of research interests, a curriculum vitae, an academic transcript and at least three recommendation letters. A copy of the Master thesis can be optionally included if already completed.
