Position Description
Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for part-time Lecturer positions to join the Department of Occupational Therapy for the fall semester of 2024. This Lecturer position will have responsibility for teaching one or more courses on a part-time basis in the graduate entry-level doctoral in Occupational Therapy (EL-OTD). Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is one of the country’s leading schools of health and rehabilitation sciences. The college has more than 25 on-campus research facilities, clinical centers, and labs The Occupational Therapy (OT) Department offers an entry-level doctoral degree program (EL-OTD), a post-professional online doctoral degree program, an undergraduate degree in Behavior and Health (BSBH), and a PhD in Rehabilitation Science. Our EL-OTD is ranked by US News and World Report as #1. Our faculty are world-renowned, leading the field in clinical experience and research, and are passionate about engaging students in these professional activities. We focus on community-based practice and emerging practice areas, with hands-on, practical experiences integrated throughout our curricula. Sargent College at Boston University is looking to hire a part-time lecturer with expertise in pediatric assessment and intervention experience to co-teach a class (“Skills I”) September-December, 2024 to entry-level OTD students. Class time: The class is held in person at 635 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, on Wednesdays from 12-2pm, with a lab session on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday. Class content: You will be teaching students how to select, administer and interpret assessments, and to choose and implement occupation-based interventions using theoretical and empirical evidence. Required Qualifications: • A doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (OTD, or pp-OTD) • Four or more years of clinical experience providing Occupational Therapy in hospital, community, home-based, or school settings • Prior teaching experience at the university level is a plus How to Apply: Please do NOT apply via the HR website.
