Position Description
Postdoc position in microbial ecology of hypersaline adapted archaea at Duke University A postdoctoral position is available in the Schmid lab, Duke University Biology Department to study how archaeal microbial communities respond to stress in hypersaline environments. A PhD in computational and/or experimental biology is required in fields including but not limited to microbial ecology, biochemistry, genomics, biostatistics, molecular biology, microbiology, evolutionary biology. Familiarity with metagenomics data analysis, microbial phylogenetics, molecular biology, and/or metabolism are a plus. Clear evidence of past research productivity is required, and strong scientific and interpersonal communication skills are expected. Our lab values the ability to work together with colleagues and teach and mentor students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
