Position Description

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical Particle Physics

The INFN Particle and Cosmology Theory Group at the Physics Department of Sapienza University of Rome invites applications for one postdoctoral position in high-energy theoretical physics to begin in Fall 2025.

Members of the group include Andrea Caputo, Roberto Contino, Angelo Esposito, Marco Nardecchia, Antonello Polosa, Luca Silvestrini, Alfredo Urbano and Mauro Valli, as well as postdocs and several students. The Physics Department at Sapienza is one of the largest in Italy and hosts groups working on all the main experiments in high-energy physics and cosmology. We have also strong ties with our neighbouring Rome institutions (University of Rome "Tor Vergata", University Roma Tre, and INFN Frascati National Labs).

We look for exceptional and motivated candidates with interest in the Phenomenology of Fundamental Interactions beyond the Standard Model, Quantum Field Theory and Cosmology.

The initial appointment will be made for a term of two years, with a possible extension to a third year contingent on funding. The annual gross salary is 31.3k euros (corresponding to a net annual salary of approximately 27.6k euros) plus benefits. The fellowship is funded by the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) within the TPPC (Theoretical Particle Physics and Cosmology) initiative.

Applications must be submitted by no later than November 15th, 2024 (11:59 am CET) through the INFN website
https://reclutamento.dsi.infn.it/
by specifying Rome as INFN hosting Section.
Eligible applicants must hold a Ph.D. and be either non-Italian citizens or Italian citizens who hold a position in a foreign institution and have been continuously abroad for at least three years.
