Duke University Divinity School seeks applications and nominations of candidates for the Director for the Center for Reconciliation (CFR). The Director will begin July 1, 2025 and will hold the Irene and William McCutchen Professorship. This position is for a regular-rank member of the Divinity School faculty at the associate professor level (tenured or non-tenured). The Director of CFR will usually teach two courses across the academic year in both residential and hybrid programs, in a field of scholarly expertise that can be related to theologies and practices of reconciliation and the formation of a shared life amid conflict, difference, and deep disagreement. The central responsibility of the director of the CFR is to provide intellectual and strategic leadership by guiding the overarching planning and program development of the Center. An academic doctorate (Ph.D., Th.D. or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is required. Prior leadership, international expertise, practical experience, and evidence of strategic planning, development work, and administrative skills are strongly preferred. Lay or ordained ministerial experience is desirable. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and names of three persons from whom letters of reference may be obtained.
