The open search is truly open to all areas of interest, while the energy-focused search is in conjunction with the UW Clean Energy Institute. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of energy-related research and to avoid duplicate submissions, we are using a single portal for all applications; applications will then be reviewed by field-based committees as appropriate.
Applications are invited for full-time, tenure-track appointments in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Washington. Outstanding candidates in all areas of chemistry and interdisciplinary areas involving chemistry will be considered for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels.
Applications are also invited for full-time, tenure-track appointments at all ranks in the Department of Chemistry to participate in research and instruction in the new UW Clean Energy Institute. Outstanding candidates with interests in materials chemistry for solar energy or electrochemical energy storage will be given preference.
University of Washington faculty members engage in teaching, research, and service. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching and to develop innovative, vigorous, externally-funded research programs.
