The Department of Boston University Sargent College Physical Therapy invites applications for the position of Visiting Fellow to support the Thompson Research Lab - https://sites.bu.edu/muscle/
The Visiting Fellow will support a portfolio of NIH
funded studies focused on skeletal muscle aging. Working closely with laboratory members, the
individual will perform animal handling tasks including functional assessments,
drug administration, and tissue dissection. The individual should have
experience with basic laboratory techniques including tissue histology and
imaging, protein / RNA extraction, Western blotting, qRT-PCR etc. to support
ongoing research activities. Experience with cell culture systems is a plus.
The position will also support skeletal muscle physiology activities.
Beyond experimental work, responsibilities include organizing experimental data, procurement, maintaining laboratory inventory, and ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols and documentation requirements and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree (MS preferred)
· Candidates should demonstrate research background experience and possess strong attention to detail
This position is a one-year appointment position with opportunity for renewal.
Salary Range: Min $21.00 – Max $25.00
