|The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS) of the Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in robotics to begin September 2014. An applicant whose work relates to robotics in areas such as, but not limited to, autonomous robotics, multi-agent systems, robot motion planning, sensor-based navigation, medical and surgical robotics, rehabilitative robotics, exoskeleton and prosthetic systems, and their applications will be well-suited for this position. A Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related field) is required at the time of employment. Whereas the position is available at the Assistant Professor level, truly exceptional candidates may be suitable to be hired at the Associate or Full Professor level.
The successful candidate is expected to carry out high quality scholarly research and collaborate with other faculty. He or she should have a clear plan to establish a vibrant research program, secure external research funding, and actively participate in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Full consideration will be given to applications received by January 1, 2014, but the applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
Applicants should electronically submit: (1) cover letter ( including email, address, and phone number), (2) complete curriculum vitae, (3) two-page statement of achievements in teaching and research, and (4) names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers of five references.|
