|The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Program in Environmental Studies at Swarthmore College invite applications for a joint tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning with the Fall semester of 2016. Responsibilities include taking a leadership role in developing and teaching a sophomore-level environmental chemistry course, as well as teaching general chemistry, inorganic chemistry and participation (on a rotating basis) in teaching the introductory and capstone courses in Environmental Studies. The appointee will conduct an active and externally funded research program in synthetic inorganic chemistry involving undergraduates. The College is transitioning to a four-course teaching load, has a generous sabbatical policy, and provides competitive start-up funds and internal support for student summer stipends. Institutional funds are also available for instrumentation purchase and maintenance. A Ph.D. is required; postdoctoral experience is greatly preferred, as is a strong commitment to undergraduate education.|
