|Instructor Teaching Pool
The University of Oregon’s Department of Art is seeking qualified applications for its open instruction teaching pool. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding, and performance.
Potential courses may include studio courses in sculpture, fibers, digital arts, painting/drawing, ceramics, printmaking, foundations, and photography.
Minimum qualifications include an MFA degree from an accredited institution. In exceptional circumstances, significant professional experience in a relevant field may substitute for the degree. Preferred qualifications include prior college or university-level teaching experience, and, for instructors in the digital arts courses, capability of teaching a fine-arts approach to interactivity (programming approaches such as processing, pure data, quartzcomposer and others), video production, animation, web-based art and design, and print design media. Position is subject to a criminal background check.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
