Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Molecular Nutrition and Metabolomics
Division of Nutritional Sciences, Cornell University


The Division of Nutritional Sciences is seeking candidates for a 9-month, full-salaried, tenure-track assistant professor in molecular nutrition with expertise in the development and use of metabolomics and related biomarkers of human metabolism, nutritional status and/or dietary exposure.  

The successful candidate is expected to have research experience in metabolomics studying human metabolism and/or related model systems, and an interest in understanding the relationships among metabolism, nutritional status and human health.  Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to analytical chemistry/biochemistry, mass spectrometry, systems biology, and/or genomics/metabolomics.   Research areas of interests include, but are not limited to, the study of biomarkers of human metabolism, human disease, nutritional status or dietary exposure and/or the role of essential and/or non-essential bioactive food/plant components in human health.

The successful candidate is expected to maintain an extramurally funded research program, teach in the Division’s graduate and undergraduate programs, and contribute to the development of campus-wide, interdisciplinary initiatives in life sciences and/or computational sciences.  This position is aligned with University initiatives in big data, information sciences, and global and public health.



The primary responsibility is to establish and maintain an independent and extramurally funded research program.  Distribution of professional effort will be approximately 60% research, 40% teaching.  More information on the Division's structure and missions and a more detailed description of the position can be found at



  • PhD, MD or equivalent in Chemistry, Engineering, Genetics/Genomics, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Physiology, or related fields.

  • Post-doctoral training preferred.

  • Interest in furthering the research and teaching mission of the Division of Nutritional Sciences.

  • Experience in research using biomarkers is essential.
