Georgia Institute of Technology: Three tenured/tenure-track positions in Work Psychology

The School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for three new tenured or tenure-track faculty members to help build an exciting new initiative in Work Psychology, beginning August 2017. Our objective is to build on existing strengths in Organizational Psychology and create a synergistic group of colleagues who share an interest in understanding the importance of work in the lives of people. Although the specific topics areas are not specified, we are seeking scholars with interests in the experience of working, the meaning of work, and the way that working affects human adjustment, achievement, and well-being. Consistent with the view that work represents a fundamental feature of human life and therefore work psychology contributes to the broad agenda of psychological science, successful candidates will be encouraged to develop fruitful collaborations with faculty in other strong areas of the School, including Cognitive Aging, Cognition and Brain Science, Engineering Psychology, and Quantitative Psychology. In addition, successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the School’s new multidisciplinary Work Science Center.

Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. degree in Psychology or a related field, show a demonstrated track record of top-tier publications and success in obtaining external research funding, and evidence of teaching effectiveness in areas of one’s expertise. Candidates should be willing and able to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Rank is open but preference will be given to candidates with records commensurate with the level of advanced Assistant through Associate Professor.

The School of Psychology, located within Georgia Tech’s College of Sciences, provides an excellent environment for teaching and innovative research. The School has excellent research facilities, strongly supports collaborative research, and enjoys productive associations with other Universities in the area and the Atlanta business community. Georgia Tech is situated on an attractive campus in the heart of Atlanta, a large, vibrant, verdant city having great economic and cultural strengths.
