|The Department of Engineering Systems and Management at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the Associate and Full Professor levels. The search is open to candidates with the following expertise:|
• Smart Built Environment (sustainable and efficient buildings and infrastructure), including urban design and planning
• Energy Policy with emphasis on the application of quantitative and qualitative policy analysis frameworks to a range of energy systems
• Operation research and risk analysis Applicants for these positions should demonstrate a successful track record of research in these areas, a well-recognized status in their field and strong interest in the application of research to the context of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Candidates should have the desire to excel, both in teaching and research, in an interdisciplinary work environment.
Applicants should have:
(a) Doctorate in Engineering, Management or the Physical or Life Sciences,
(b) the ability to teach at the graduate level,
(c) the ability to supervise graduate students,
(d) a willingness to develop an active program of research with funding from academic and industrial entities, and
(e) a proven ability to conduct scholarly research and teaching.
The Department of Engineering Systems and Management at Masdar Institute is currently offering two MSc degree programs (MSc in Engineering Systems and Management ESM, MSc in Sustainable Critical Infrastructure SCI), in addition, the Department participates in the Engineering PhD program at the institute.
Successful candidates will be affiliated with the Institute Center of Smart and Sustainable Systems iSmart. Masdar Institute of Science and Technology is a private, not-for-profit, independent, graduate-level, research-driven institute developed with the support and cooperation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
