Tenure-track Assistant Professor: The Department of Sociology at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position, to begin fall semester 2017. We seek a medical sociologist with research and teaching interests in racial/ethnic disparities in health (including the social determinants of mental and/or physical health, social organization of health, or health policy). Candidacy for this position will be strengthened if the applicant can also contribute to one or more of our existing departmental strengths in environment, gender, global/comparative, population and migration, social movements, politics and organizations. Strong quantitative research skills and the ability to obtain external funding are highly desirable.
