The Department of Sociology at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor, to begin fall semester 2017. We seek a medical sociologist with research and teaching interests in racial/ethnic disparities in health (including the social determinants of mental and/or physical health, social organization of health, or health policy). Strong quantitative skills, with an ability to teach graduate methods and statistics, and the capacity to bring in external funding are highly desirable. Candidacy for this position will be strengthened if the applicant can also contribute to one or more of our existing departmental strengths in environment, gender, global/comparative, population and migration, social movements, politics and organizations.
