The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks applications to fill a tenured faculty position at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commencing within a mutually agreeable timeframe. This position is partially funded by Ohio State’s Discovery Themes Initiative (Discovery.osu.edu), a significant faculty hiring investment in key thematic areas in which the university can build on its culture of academic collaboration to make a global impact. The successful candidate will be engaged in the Sustainable and Resilient Economy (SRE) program (https://discovery.osu.edu/SRE) with a highly collaborative interdisciplinary community of scholars from Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, Economics and Business. Candidates with research interests in the field of chemical catalysis that is relevant to the general field of sustainable chemistry and with potential application in synthesis or polymer chemistry are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in collaborative teams and interdisciplinary research with the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and the broader community of scholars.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry or related fields is required. Candidates with research interests in catalysis and synthesis across any of the areas of organometallic, bioinorganic, main group, polymer or materials chemistry are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated excellence in innovative research and a strong commitment to teaching are essential. Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
