Duke University Faculty Position in Data Science
The Pratt School of Engineering, Duke University, invites applications for the Rhodes Family Professorship in the areas of information, computing and data science. Successful candidates should have developed internationally-recognized research programs in the broad areas of information theory and computational science, with applications to emerging problems in security, environment, and human health. These research programs should be supported by external funding, and by dynamic participation in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Pratt faculty and student community are currently very diverse and are strongly committed to enhancing this diversity. Thus candidates from under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply. In addition, Duke encourages interdisciplinary collaboration within and between departments, as well as entrepreneurial activities, which serve to broaden the societal impact of its research and teaching. We anticipate hiring at the senior level, although exceptional candidates at the associate rank may also be considered.
Applications received prior to November 1, 2016, will receive priority in consideration, but applications will continue to be accepted until the positions are filled. Applicants should electronically submit: (1) cover letter (including email, address, and phone number), (2) complete curriculum vitae, and (3) names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers of five references to the secure website https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/7946. We expect to hire for the Fall 2017 semester.
