The School of Education at Boston University invites applications for the position of a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education with a focus on preparing undergraduate and graduate students in a state approved licensure program to teach PreK - 2nd grade.

We are seeking a faculty member who shares Boston University School of Education’s commitment to both the preparation of educators and the advancement of research and scholarship in Early Childhood Education.
The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate and will have evidence of a strong record of commitment and experience working with teachers and learners in early childhood educational settings. The successful candidate will have an articulate program of research that is relevant to the practice of early childhood education and/or the preparation of early childhood educators. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on topics related to child development, curriculum for inquiry and play-based learning, and assessment, as well as supervise student teachers.
Responsibilities also include advising undergraduate and graduate students, establishing and maintaining relationships with practitioners, school and state officials and selecting sites for field placements.
The position begins July 1, 2017. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Earned doctorate in Early Childhood Education or closely related field
• Three years teaching or equivalent experience working directly with children and families
• University teaching and supervising experience
• Demonstrated interest in child development and early learning research and its implications for the education of young children
