Description: The Ohio State University seeks qualified candidates for a 9 month, tenure-track faculty position available in Columbus starting autumn semester 2017. We will consider applicants in a broad range of disciplines within the fields of sedimentary or structural geology. We welcome applicants for the sedimentology/stratigraphy position with research and teaching interests in sedimentary facies architecture at the basin-scale, process sedimentology, or Earth history. Applicants for the structural geology position may have research and teaching interests in how the earth changes over time through internal processes at all scales from microns to mountains, including causes and consequences of solid earth movement, plate tectonics, mountain building, and other internal workings of the planet.

The successful applicant will maintain an active, externally funded research program, and complement existing expertise in the School of Earth Sciences in energy science, global climate change across a range of timescales, geodynamics, and hydrology. This individual could also provide a major role in the teaching of our BS capstone course, Field Geology, and contribute broadly to our undergraduate and graduate teaching mission and ongoing efforts to grow enrollments across the curriculum.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an earned Ph.D. in Geological/Earth Sciences. Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
