|The Ball State University School of Music invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning August, 2017.
Major responsibilities: Teach applied lessons to undergraduate and graduate students, performing with the faculty brass quintet, leading weekly studio class, directing/conducting trombone ensemble, coaching student chamber groups, and additional duties as assigned by the director. Additional performance opportunities may be available locally and regionally. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit and maintain a strong studio, maintain a national/international level of performance/scholarship, and participate in service.
Minimum qualifications: Completed Master’s degree in music, from an accredited college or university, a strong performance history, and a record of successful college teaching.
Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality students, exceptional performance and/or scholarly background, completed doctorate, coaching chamber music, teaching trombone repertoire/pedagogy, conducting experience, and/or experience/background of entrepreneurship in music.
