This posting is for an Assistant Professor position, with focus on: Data Science, Machine Learning, Optimization.
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at Boston University (BU) anticipates openings for multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. Priorities are in: a) the general area of data science, machine learning, and large scale optimization with impact in applications such as computational biology, computational medicine, computational neuroscience, or computational social science and b) the general areas of integrated sensor or actuator systems or flexible electronics with impact in applications such as biomedicine, neuroscience, prosthetics, wearable technology, autonomous vehicles, or Internet of Things. Secondary appointments in appropriate departments, such as Biomedical Engineering, are likely for candidates with suitable interests and experience. Candidates with research programs that transcend the traditional boundaries of ECE are strongly encouraged to apply, and explore potential collaborations with BU’s multidisciplinary centers such as the Center for Integrated Life Science and Engineering, the Center for Systems Neuroscience, and the Center for Information and Systems Engineering.
