Seeking Postdoctoral Researcher
We offer a post-doc position in the area of theoretical quantum condensed matter and quantum information processing in the solid state, in the Quantum System Theory Research Team in CEMS, RIKEN (Tokyo) lead by Prof. Dr. Daniel Loss.
The post-doc will join ongoing activities on spin and phase coherent phenomena in semiconducting and magnetic nanostructures, as well as quantum information processing in the solid state. The ideal candidate has experience and/or a strong interest in physics of spin qubits in gated semiconducting quantum dots. Other topics of our current interest include: many-body effects in low-dimensional electronic systems, nuclear magnetism, quantum transport of magnetization, topological quantum matter, topological superconductivity, topological insulators, Majorana fermions and parafermions, hybrid systems, Floquet systems, etc.
The stimulating environment of the recently established RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science (CEMS) offers many opportunities of interactions with experimental and theoretical groups with related interests. The new Postdoctoral Researcher could also benefit from collaborations with theoretical groups at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in theoretical Condensed Matter Physics.
Salary and Benefits
Full-time position with an annually renewable contract based on evaluation of the employee and the Center. Salary shall be determined on an annual basis subject to the applicant's experience and performance. Commuting and housing allowances will be provided.
