The Industrial/Organizational graduate concentration is designed to qualify students for professional careers in organizational behavior and human resource functions in business, industry, or government; or for doctoral programs in Industrial/Organizational psychology.

This graduate concentration leads to a Master of Science degree in Psychology with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

In one essay please answer the following seven (7) questions in no more than one page for each question (7 page max): 1)Aside from making the workplace better, why specifically are you interested in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology? 2) What areas of Industrial/Organizational Psychology are of interest to you and why? Please be specific. 3) Describe any educational, work, volunteer, or other experiences you have that demonstrate your abilities in the following areas: (a) Ability to analyze complex problems and think about innovative and creative solutions; and (b) Ability to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines, and sustain performance and motivation on long term projects. 4) What, if any, work experience has prepared you for a career in I/O? Please be specific as to how and why it has prepared you. 5) What are your areas of research interest and how do they align the research interests of our faculty? What are your future educational and/or career goals?
