The Department of Physics at the University of California, San Diego invites applications for a postdoctoral position in theoretical condensed matter physics, with a starting date in the Fall of 2017. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with Prof. Tarun Grover, and would be strongly encouraged to interact with other members of the department. This position is a full-time two-year appointment, renewable for a third year by mutual agreement.
The research will broadly focus on quantum many-body physics and, depending on the background of the successful candidate, could involve topics such as quantum dynamics, quantum phases of matter, quantum information as applied to problems in many-body physics, strongly correlated materials such as frustrated magnets and heavy fermion systems. Candidates with strong background in either analytical and/or numerical techniques are encouraged to apply.
Prospective candidates should submit a curriculum vitae which contains their publication list, and a two-three page description of research interests through AcademicJobsOnline. Applicants should also arrange for three letters of reference to be submitted by the letter writers through AcademicJobsOnline. The deadline for applications is November 30, 2016.
