Studio Art, Digital Artist. The Department of Art and Art History at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure stream position at the rank of assistant professor, beginning Fall 2017. Teach beginning and advanced courses in digital art as a studio practice, which could include emerging forms, physical computing, interactive art, social practice, performance, sound art, virtual reality, 3D animation or experimental game design. Other teaching responsibilities include the introductory studio course that spans theory and practice across media. The successful candidate will occasionally teach upper level interdisciplinary studio courses, including the junior seminar and senior capstone, and advise senior projects in digital art. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to Film and Media Studies. All Colgate faculty are expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. Five course load. Responsible for management of the digital studios. MFA or equivalent terminal degree expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. Previous teaching at the college or university level is a plus.
