Dept. of Physics and Astronomy, Michigan State University
|The High Energy Theory group and the Institute for Mathematical
and Theoretical Physics at Michigan State University welcome
applications for a postdoctoral position in theoretical particle
physics with emphasis on precision calculations in perturbative
Quantum Field Theory. The appointment is for two years starting
in the fall of 2017 or earlier.
Applications should be submitted online to academicsjobsonline.org.
Review of applications will begin on December 5, 2016 and will
continue until the position is filled.
The group consists of ten faculty members: Sekhar Chivukula,
Steve Hsu, Huey-Wen Lin, Andreas v. Manteuffel, Jon Pumplin,
Wayne Repko (Emeritus), Carl Schmidt, Elizabeth Simmons, Dan Stump,
and C.-P. Yuan, as well as six postdoctoral fellows and several
graduate students. Ongoing research encompasses perturbative precision
calculations, lattice QCD, beyond-the-standard-model scenarios,
collider phenomenology, formal aspects of Quantum Field Theory,
cosmology, and beam physics. The group has close interactions with an
active Michigan State HEP experimental group and has a strong
participation in CTEQ - a national collaboration of theorists and
experimentalists. The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the
Department of Mathematics at MSU provide excellent opportunities for
interactions between Mathematics and Physics through the joint
Institute for Theoretical and Mathematical Physics.
MSU is an affirmative-action, equal-opportunity employer and is
committed to achieving excellence through diversity. The University
actively encourages applications of women and minorities.|
