The Department of English at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, advanced Assistant or Associate Professor in Theoretical Linguistics. The anticipated start date is August 2017. We are particularly interested in applicants with a research focus in semantics and a secondary focus in syntax. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty working to advance innovative research and excellence in teaching through its work with the diverse and growing undergraduate and graduate student population at Arizona State University.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related discipline by time of appointment
  • College-level teaching experience
  • A record of high quality research and publication in Theoretical Linguistics and demonstrated potential to advance a compelling research agenda

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching linguistics
  • Demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse student populations and/or reaching out to diverse communities
