PLEASE NOTE that this is an UNDERGRADUATE position
Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Astrophysics, Particle and Nuclear Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Wayne State University invites applications from undergraduate students for our 2017 Summer REU program.
This Research Experience for Undergraduates program is designed to provide undergraduate students with an introduction to the world of scientific research in the fields of Particle, Nuclear, and Astro Physics. Participants to the program will conduct their project research at Wayne State University (or with WSU affiliates at FNAL or BNL), and work together with physicists from the ALICE, CDF, CMS, ILC, STAR, LSST, or SDSS collaborations. The laboratories provide a unique constellation of research opportunities, including:
Some of the research activities covered by our program are described here.
Applications including CV/resume (covering current GPA, GPA in physics, summer research interests and a list of physics/astronomy courses already taken), and TWO letters of recommendation should be submitted to Academic Jobs Online website. Please note that you need to be a US citizen/Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) to participate in this program.
The deadline for application is 10 February 2017. Later applications will be considered until the positions are filled. Informal inquiries are welcomed and should be sent to Prof. Alexey A Petrov (REU Program Director) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
