Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Astrophysics, Particle and Nuclear Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Wayne State University invites applications from undergraduate students for our 2017 Summer REU program.

This Research Experience for Undergraduates program is designed to provide undergraduate students with an introduction to the world of scientific research in the fields of Particle, Nuclear, and Astro Physics. Participants to the program will conduct their project research at Wayne State University (or with WSU affiliates at FNAL or BNL), and work together with physicists from the ALICECDFCMSILCSTARLSST, or SDSS collaborations. The laboratories provide a unique constellation of research opportunities, including:
  • Observational Astrophysics
  • Experimental Particle Physics
  • Experimental Nuclear Physics
  • Theoretical Particle Physics
  • Theoretical Nuclear Physics
  • Instrumentation for scientific research
  • High performance distributed computing
