Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Operations Management or closely related field. Candidates should have an established record of multiple top-tier journals with an interdisciplinary focus. SBU has a strong interdisciplinary vision and encourages collaboration not only across disciplines within the College of Business, by but also across other colleges on campus. Thus, we seek candidates who have published not only in the most prestigious Operations Management research journals, but also in top-tier journals across business disciplines (e.g., Marketing, Finance). Evidence of ability to publish high quality research. Demonstrated or clear potential for excellent teaching in undergraduate and graduate operation management courses.
Preferred Qualifications: Higher education teaching experience. Research on implementation of big data analytics in areas of operations such as supply chain management, manufacturing, quality improvement; quality teaching of MBA and undergraduate business students in core operations management; well-developed research interests in operational excellence (originality of papers in preparation or published); estimated fundability prospects for proposed research (based on applicability for potentially-relevant funding agencies); prospects for success in contributions to primary academic mission of SBU College of Business, i.e. AACSB Accreditation; prospects for success in contributions either to the development of MSc in Business Analytics, the Center for Performance Measurement, the Center for Innovation, and/or the Center for Integration of Business Education and Humanities; business or consulting experiences or operational excellence.
Responsibilities & Requirements: The Assistant/Associate/Full Professor will be responsible for undergraduate and graduate teaching in the field of Operations Management; responsible to successfully work on a college approved research program or other intellectual contributions that result in publications in top tier academic journals within Management, which serve to enhance the reputation of the College of Business at Stony Brook University. The selected candidate will be responsible for participation in college administrative and/or college committee assignments, serve on committees charged with assessment of learning and to provide service to the Stony Brook University community.
