Visiting Assistant Professor in Dance for the Fall of 2017

The Department of Theater at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year position in Dance at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning in the fall semester of 2017. There is a possibility of renewal for a second year contingent on department needs and successful teaching in the first year. Completion of a terminal degree (M.F.A. or Ph.D.) is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. The field of specialization is open, and candidates with an interdisciplinary interest and approach in both Theater and Dance are especially encouraged to apply. The teaching assignment of five courses per year may include an interdisciplinary introduction to Theater and Dance; beginning and advanced courses in Dance technique; and courses in Dance theory and history, within the candidate’s field of specialization. Candidates may also be asked to contribute to all-university Programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
