Position Description:

The Macalester College Department of Geology invites applications for an anticipated two-year full-time visiting assistant professor position to begin in Fall 2017. This position is a replacement for two consecutive sabbatical leaves (Mineralogy/Petrology and Geomorphology) but the successful candidate is not required to span both disciplines. The successful candidate will teach additional courses related to their area(s) of expertise that would complement and enrich our existing introductory and upper level course offerings (e.g., geochemistry, soils/paleosols, Quaternary geology, volcanology, petrology, economic geology, among others). More information about the department can be found at www.macalester.edu/geology.

Applicants should submit: (1) a cover letter describing their interest in the position, (2) teaching and research statements, (3) summaries of course evaluations, and (4) a curriculum vitae (including contact information for references).
