|The Theoretical Physics division at Uppsala University and Nordita announce a Tenure Track Position as Associate Senior Lecturer in Theoretical Physics. Note that this is the first of two open positions in theoretical physics. Each position has a separate application. Duties: The position includes teaching, research and administration. Teaching duties include course responsibility, course administration and supervision of second- and third-cycle students. The holder shall also keep abreast of developments within the subject area and the developments in wider community that are significant for the work at the university. A position as associate senior lecturer is intended to qualify the holder for a teaching position with higher qualification requirements.
The research is within the general topics of string theory, gravitation and quantum field theory. Candidates whose research is in the modern areas of string theory, related to holographic dualities, black hole physics, quantum entanglement and conformal bootstrap, are especially encouraged to apply. During the employment period, the position is research focused, and include 80% research and 20% teaching. During this time, the employment is split equally between Nordita, Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics, in Stockholm and Uppsala University.
At Nordita, the main responsibilities include research, supervision of postdocs and doctoral students, and to actively participate in organizing scientific programs and workshops. At Uppsala University the duties include research, teaching and administration.
Appointment Period: The position can be held for a maximum of four years. An associate senior lecturer can apply for promotion to senior lecturer. If the associate senior lecturer is deemed suitable and fulfills the criteria for promotion established by the Faculty Board, he/she shall be promoted to and employed as senior lecturer.
