The School of Optometry and Vision Science in the Faculty of Science at the University of Waterloo is seeking an exceptional educator and administrator for a two year Definite Term appointment at the rank of Lecturer for the position of Director of the International Optometric Bridging Program (IOBP). The International Optometric Bridging Program is designed to provide optometrists educated outside Canada and the United States with a structured orientation to Canadian standards of optometric practice.  The preferred start date is July 1, 2017 however the date is negotiable.

 The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of a strong administrative background with an emphasis on policy development, financial planning, and reporting.  Knowledge of the profession of optometry and dealing with provincial regulatory bodies is preferred. Duties include administration of the IOBP program and supervision of other IOBP personnel. Opportunities to teach in the program may also be available.  The Director position involves program market research and advancement; program development, implementation and evaluation; supervision of program personnel; financial management; ministry reporting as well as the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

 This position is a 0.60 FTE. The full time equivalent salary range for this position at the Lecturer rank is $65,000 – 100,000.00. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
