|The Institute for Insight at the Robinson College of Business is seeking one or more highly motivated Research Scientists to support the work of the Institute by contributing to its scientific and research mission. This is a part-time position, and requires:
Managing the Institute’s “big data” cluster
Assisting and training faculty and students on managing and analyzing large data sets
Providing research support for faculty conducting research
Qualifications include an advanced degree, PhD preferred, teaching/research experience in an academic environment, and fluency in platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and other “big-data” technologies. This position often serves as the first point of contact for the Lab; strong communication skills and a service orientation are highly valued.
The mission of the Institute for Insight is to serve as a portal into big data analytics for our broad community of students, researchers, entrepreneurs, institutions and industry partners, helping each to create and leverage insight needed to build, innovate and transform their work. Institute faculty teach and participate in research projects in the Insight Lab.
