Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Center for Integrative Geosciences

The Center for Integrative Geosciences at the University of Connecticut, Storrs seeks to hire a non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor-in-Residence. This is an academic year position with teaching responsibilities in geosciences. Area of specialization within geosciences is open.  The program offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.

The successful candidate will primarily contribute to teaching in the undergraduate program but will also be able to pursue research interests and collaborative research within the Center. 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A Ph.D. in geosciences or a related discipline
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  3. College-level teaching experience is required

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience coordinating undergraduate labs and teaching assistants

Appointment Terms

This is a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track position, which may lead to long-term multi-year contracts. The teaching load for this position is seven 3-credit courses per year, or the equivalent.  The anticipated start date is August 23, 2017.   This position may be renewed, up to an additional two years, based upon performance, the needs of the College, and the availability of funding.
