Postdoctoral Associate Experimental Particle Physics Cornell University

The Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-based Sciences and Education (CLASSE) at Cornell University has an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate to work on the CMS experiment at the LHC, with the possibility of contributing to other laboratory activities such as a dark photon search. The Cornell CMS group is working on Higgs and top physics, and searches for Beyond the Standard Model physics. On the detector side, the Cornell CMS group is involved in pixel detector operations and phase 2 upgrades for the HL-LHC, including the forward pixel detector and track-trigger, and in CMS software infrastructure.

The successful candidate would be based largely in Ithaca and have a substantial involvement with the search for beyond the standard model physics. A PhD in experimental high energy physics is required. Appointments are nominally for one year with the possibility of renewal up to five years total, subject to mutual satisfaction and the availability of funds under our NSF grant. Applications should be submitted at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/9246 and should include a CV, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and three letters of recommendation. Complete applications will be considered immediately. For information about the positon, contact Prof. Ritchie Patterson at jrp3@cornell.edu.
