The Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) seeks enthusiastic and innovative teachers for two teaching stream positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the field of Computer Science beginning July 1, 2018.

We seek candidates who have a record of excellent teaching, exhibit the intellectual curiosity to pursue novel and innovative methods of thinking and teaching, and are interested in establishing a long-term teaching career with the Department.

The successful candidates must have an advanced degree in Computer Science or a related area by the time of appointment. However, candidates with a PhD in Computer Science or related area are highly desirable. We particularly seek candidates with strong pedagogical and content expertise in the broad areas of Systems or Artificial Intelligence.

Candidates must have strong referee endorsements highlighting excellent teaching and long-term commitment to pedagogical enquiry and teaching innovation. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated through teaching evaluations, a teaching dossier, a teaching statement and endorsements from referees.

Teaching duties in the undergraduate program include core courses at the first and/or second year level, as well as upper-level courses in one of the candidate's fields of expertise. Responsibilities may include undergraduate teaching, managing teaching assistants, developing course materials, and curriculum development. In addition, each faculty member has some responsibility for student supervision and departmental administration.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
