Description: The Department of Political Science seeks candidates for a tenure-track position focusing on nationalism and citizenship. The position is open to scholars in any subfield of political science, although we are especially interested in people who bring a strong theoretical perspective grounded in both normative and analytic reasoning. We are especially interested in the relationship between nationalism and citizenship as political ideals, and how different understandings of this relationship affect political behavior and outcomes. Successful candidates may come at this question from a variety of perspectives, including normative political theory, political behavior, and political psychology, or through the study of social movements, political mobilization, or the functioning of political institutions. This position is available pending budget approval.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD or plan to have a PhD in political science by August 2018. A successful candidate will have a strong research agenda, evidence of teaching excellence, and the promise of attracting external funding.
