RESEARCH AREA: INNATE IMMUNE MECHANISMS OF INFLAMMATORY ARTHRITIS, AND OSTEOIMMUNOLOGY/EFFECTS ON BONE:
A POSTDOCTORAL POSITION is available for research involving pathogenic mechanisms in inflammatory rheumatic diseases, with an emphasis on the role of innate immunity and effects on bone. Projects focus on novel innate immune mechanisms that contribute to the development and chronicity of rheumatic diseases. Excellent collaborative research environment including multiple core facilities. The research will also involve the study of innate immune receptors and pathways and epigenetic mechanisms using well-validated animal models, human tissues, and in vitro systems. Training in specific arthritis models will be provided. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree. A strong background in molecular biology and immunology is required along with knowledge of data analysis and interpretation, and routine statistical analyses. Experience with animal models, osteoclasts and/or osteoblasts is also sought, though not required. The position is available now and is funded. Please address all inquiries to Ellen M.
