Assistant Professor, Media Theory: The Media Studies Department at Pomona College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professors position in Media Theory, beginning July 1, 2019. Candidates must be able to contribute to the Department’s goal of providing a “unique emphasis on rigorous theoretical training” while offering classes in a specialty area. We seek applicants with theoretical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Film Studies; Critical Race Studies; Critical Political Economy; Medium Theory; Queer Theory, Gender and Sexuality Studies; Psychoanalytic Theory; Disability Studies; and/or Postcolonial Studies. The Media Studies Department and Pomona College support equal access to higher education and value working in a richly diverse environment. The successful candidate will have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving higher education for underrepresented students. Ph.D. Required.
